Hotspot

The Library's hotspots can be used to connect mobile-enabled devices (like laptops, smartphones, or tablets) to the Internet. A hotspot is portable, so you can connect to the internet almost anywhere you are, like at home, on the go in a car, or on vacation!

Our hotspots deliver a strong, fast, and secure online connection through Mobile Beacon (which uses the T-Mobile network) for up to 10 devices at the same time. They provide unlimited data, so while connected you don't have to worry about using or paying for your own data.

Patrons must be 18 or older with a SAILS library card in good standing.

Hotspots may be borrowed for up to 14 days. They are limited to one per household and may not be renewed. After returning a hotspot, patrons must wait 30 days before borrowing another.

All hotspots must be returned to a staff member at the front desk and not be returned in the indoor or outdoor book drop or to any other library.

Patrons will be charged $5 for each day a hotspot is overdue, up to $25. Hotspots will be deactivated if not returned on time, and patrons will be charged a $150 replacement fee 2 weeks after the due date.

Library staff reserve the right to refuse this service to patrons who abuse equipment or are repeatedly late in returning devices. Returning a device late will result in a loss of hotspot borrowing privileges for 3 months for the first late return and 6 months for the second late return. A third late return will result in a permanent loss of hotspot borrowing privileges.

Patrons are responsible for damage, loss, or theft of hotspots or any of the accompanying materials. The severity of any damage will be solely determined by library staff and may result in a $150 replacement fee.

The Library is not responsible for any liability, damages, expense, loss of data, or personal information that may be compromised as a result of using the device.
